Maria knows the best path forward for Nevada’s economy is less red tape and smarter regulation. While reasonable rules are necessary to ensure safety and accountability, too many regulations exist solely to obstruct competition and make it harder for small businesses and entrepreneurs to succeed. Local businesses shouldn’t be buried in paperwork just to open their doors or create jobs.
Maria will fight to cut unnecessary regulations that stifle innovation, slow job creation, and push businesses out of Nevada. In addition to supporting long standing industries like mining and gaming, Maria believes we must diversify our economy, attract new industries like biotech and manufacturing, and bring good-paying jobs to Las Vegas and communities across the state.
A strong economy also depends on a strong education system. When K-12 and higher education prepare students for the workplace, they bring innovation and a higher earning potential, which will then attract employers seeking an educated workforce. With the cost of living rising, Maria will work to keep taxes low, support working families, and put more money back in the pockets of hardworking Nevadans.
