Maria understands the gaps in Nevada’s healthcare system on a deeply personal level. When her mom was diagnosed with cancer after moving to Las Vegas, her family experienced firsthand how shortages of doctors, nurses, and medical specialists, combined with the rising cost of care, can delay critical treatment. Too many Nevadans are forced to leave the state just to receive basic testing or see a specialist. Maria does not want any family to carry this burden.
Access to quality healthcare should never depend on geography or income. Maria will work to strengthen Nevada’s healthcare system by bringing more doctors, nurses, and therapists to our state, reducing wait times, and improving access to care. She will push to cut unnecessary licensing barriers so qualified providers such as nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapists can begin working sooner. She will support policies that expand choice, increase affordability, and ensure Nevada families can get the care they need here at home.
